This is a plein air piece I painted at the Grace Salmon Park which sits along the Saugatuck River in Westport, Ct. The day was sunny and breezy and the tide was out. I started with an underpainting of red iron oxide and ultramarine blue then let it dry. Later, in my studio, I applied the other colors over the initial painting.
