This is a watercolor I painted on sealed paper before teaching a class on composition. I like the composition in this piece as there are several triangular shapes and the picture has a clear light contrast in the front, hazing down to an opalescent quality and softer edges as you look farther into the painting.

To get the effect of watercolor that you see I used watercolor paint from tubes without adding much water; that way I could use the watercolor paint in a similar manner as oils.
